Privacy Policy

WORK(ER) OF ART — EFFECTIVE APRIL 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how WORK(ER) OF ART ("WOA", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information from users of the WOA mobile application and website. By using WOA, you agree to the practices described here.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT

When you create an account and use WOA, we collect the following:

• Name and username
• Email address
• Profile photo
• Bio, discipline (art type), years of experience
• City and country (not precise GPS coordinates)
• Posts, comments, and interactions you make on the platform
• Gigs you post or express interest in
• Messages sent through the in-app messaging system
• Device type and operating system (for app performance)
• Push notification tokens (to deliver notifications)

2. HOW WE USE IT

We use your information to:

• Run and operate the WOA platform
• Connect artists with gig posters looking for their specific talent
• Display your artist profile to other users
• Send relevant notifications (new messages, gig interest, follows, likes)
• Notify you of gigs posted near your city (if you opt in)
• Improve the app experience over time

3. WHAT WE NEVER DO

• We will never sell your personal data to third parties
• We will never share your email address without your explicit consent
• We do not track your precise GPS location
• We do not serve advertising of any kind
• We do not build advertising profiles from your behaviour
• We do not share your messages with anyone outside the conversation

4. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time (via Settings → Delete Account)
• Update or correct your profile information at any time
• Opt out of push notifications at any time via your device settings
• Contact us at privacy@workerofart.com with any data request

5. DATA RETENTION

When you delete your account, all of your personal data — including your profile, posts, messages, and notifications — is permanently erased from our systems within 30 days of deletion. Some anonymised aggregate data (e.g. total post counts) may be retained for platform analytics but will not be linked to your identity.

6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

WOA uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (supabase.com)
• Expo / EAS — app build and push notification delivery (expo.dev)

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We do not share your data with these providers beyond what is necessary to operate WOA.

7. SECURITY

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security on our database, and secure authentication via Supabase Auth. However, no system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your account credentials private.

8. CHILDREN

WOA is rated 12+ and is not directed at children under the age of 12. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 12. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
